Buy better
Clearly, we're not keen on rushing to the store right now. Not that the situation is stressing us out, but our priority simply isn't to go to a store because we know that, as is often the case after a long period without shopping, we risk buying items without thinking, items we'll never wear. So let's forget about this (bad) idea!
On the other hand, we are very proud to have put a little money aside during these few weeks, we want to congratulate ourselves – and therefore, treat ourselves!
We therefore deserve to buy ourselves ONE (at least) beautiful, quality piece. Because we want to protect the planet and are tired of over-consuming, we turn to second-hand goods, and even more so online!
Jaiio is, in our opinion, an excellent solution to meet what we are looking for: First, authenticity is verified, so there is no risk of being ripped off. Quality is their priority, so we are assured of getting a piece in good condition. We are doing a good deed since we are buying a used piece (circular economy, we say yes!). No need to travel, the photos clearly highlight the pretty items and in just a few clicks, they are ours! Finally, we save money because the prices are very attractive for such treasures!
What if I change my mind? The program jaiioforever gives us 6 months to decide whether we want to keep our item, or if we prefer to exchange it for a voucher (which will allow us to buy a new item that we prefer! – Because only fools don't change their minds).
No longer “store” unnecessarily
We all had time to sort through our closets during these 55 days! It was an opportunity to (re)discover pretty pieces from our wardrobe, try them on again, and put aside what we no longer liked or what no longer suited us. There's no point in hoarding, piling up clothes that no longer fit us, thinking "just in case, if I lose a few pounds... or if it comes back into fashion."
Stop! Does it fit and I still like it? I'll keep it! Otherwise, I'll get rid of it! Here again, jaiio helps you! Nothing could be simpler, a short form to fill out on the site, we prepare the items in a bag, and jaiio takes care of the rest! Great, I'll earn a little money, space in my closet and above all make people happy with the pieces I've sold!
Invest in sustainable and responsible pieces

Consuming less, therefore better, also means choosing sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. A friend once told us about visiting textile factories in India when she worked for a fast-fashion brand. The water used to dye the clothes was then dumped into the river, where the locals drank the water... How can we let this happen?!
Our priority is therefore to consume sustainable and more eco-friendly materials, which are therefore synonymous with good quality. Synthetic or artificial materials such as polyester, elastane, or viscose should be banned or at least avoided. Indeed, they are made from numerous chemicals (sometimes carcinogenic...) and have a disastrous impact on our environment. Therefore, favor cotton, leather, wool, silk, or even linen. It's up to you to check the labels before jumping too quickly on a piece.By paying attention to this information, you'll be protecting the planet, and sometimes your health as well. Don't be fooled by a product's "beauty"!

Taking care of our clothes
And yes, it seems logical, but taking care of your clothes allows us to extend their lifespan and is therefore involved in a responsible approach! Nothing complicated, except that you absolutely must follow the care instructions on the label, hand wash delicate items, wash your clothes ONLY when they are dirty, use an organic detergent (homemade Marseille soap is perfect - don't hesitate to add a few drops of essential oils to make your laundry smell good), use the ECO cycle of your machine, do not use the dryer (or only occasionally) or hang your laundry properly to avoid having to iron. You will see, these are small reflexes to adopt, but imagine if each of us applied them right now, we are sure that it would have a huge (and positive) impact on our planet!
Share (our good deals)
We're not going to lie to you, we've missed our friends and family a lot and we're determined to share our new ideas and thoughts with them as soon as possible. Because yes, we're 100% convinced that if we talk about it to those around us, they'll in turn put these good habits into practice (and talk about them to those around them, and so on...). On social media, during a phone call, etc... Let's not wait to share these initiatives. Has your aunt always eaten "organic and local"? That's great! But how long has it been since she's sorted out her wardrobe? Find out... and give her our tips! We still remember our grandmother ironing our underwear when we went on vacation to her house as a teenager... If we had been aware at the time that using the iron drew significantly on our energy resources... We would have reacted instead of laughing!
Even though the period we have just experienced was unprecedented, made up of positive moments, more difficult or painful moments, we only want to keep the best and come out of it stronger! So to the question "What has the confinement changed for you? What lessons have you learned from it?" We answer that we have become aware of the world we live in, that we have decided to consume responsibly, intelligently and all while enjoying ourselves! (and that we can't wait to meet up with friends for a drink - but just a little more patience for that!)
