For years, heels were THE fashion fantasy. Since the 1970s, they have had a small impact on men and women who have decided to adopt them.
But now, and for a few years now, flat shoes have been making a comeback. Who said you couldn't wear sneakers to walk the red carpet? Not Kristen Stewart, at least, who, remember, didn't hesitate to show up at the MTV Movie Awards in Converse in 2012.
So, which pair of shoes should you choose to stay feminine?
jaiio is here to guide you!
Do I have to wear heels?
Who hasn't read in a magazine or heard while chatting with their friends about how many great things stiletto heels have? They elongate your silhouette, improve your gait, and highlight your chest... But we're not all capable of running between appointments, trotting down the subway corridors, dropping the kids off at school before heading off to the office, and all of this while perched on 10cm heels! Let's not lie, we're all Wonder Women, but we don't want to break an ankle...
In what situation(s) should I wear heels?
Ladies, don't be afraid, heels don't necessarily mean stilettos. Indeed, shoes with small heels – also called Kitten Heels (heels between 3.5 and 5 cm) – are definitely trendy! However, to avoid looking too "granny", you have to know how to accessorize them. To go to the office, dare to wear them with 7/8 pants, a white t-shirt and a blazer (without forgetting the belt), as Emmanuelle Alt does so well (https://www.pinterest.fr/pin/40813940353978458/). For a date, they'll be perfect with a colorful pleated skirt, a slightly low-cut white top, and a pretty clutch. In short, you get the idea: these shoes are perfect as long as you create a cool, modern look!
You're free to wear higher heels. It's best to experiment with different heights to find your perfect fit. Then, wear them a few times at home to get used to them. Just between you and me, feel free to take one of your comfortable shoes for the commute and change into them before you arrive at the office or your meeting place (no one will know, we promise).
But what is this sneaker trend?
Today, most sneakers available on the market weren't designed for exercise. Brands have realized this, and the biggest luxury brands all have at least one iconic sneaker model. They're doubling their efforts to adapt to this new trend, even going so far as to reissue old flagship models! Nothing is more trendy than wearing a dress with our favorite pair of vintage sneakers, or a maxi coat with our white sneakers. It's also possible to find magnificent second-hand treasures that have become ultra trendy again!
As you can see, femininity has nothing to do with your shoes. As Marilyn Monroe said: “Give a woman beautiful shoes and she can conquer the world,” so the most important thing is to feel good, beautiful and stylish in your favorite shoes! (with heels… or not!)
